It seems Daihatsu has decided to offer the old Toyota Yaris as the new Charade in Europe. All I can say after this much decision change and Toyota’s tossing Daihatsu around is; whatever.

The head of Daihatsu said that his company is not working with Toyota on a compact, low-cost car for emerging markets, denying persistent media reports of such a project.
But President Teruyuki Minoura, speaking at the launch of the new Tanto Exe microcar in Tokyo, said he saw a big role for Daihatsu to lead development of small and cheaper cars within the Toyota group.

A car magazine from Japan has released a rendering of Toyota iQ Roadster. No one is quite sure how accurate this rendering is but even from a glance; it looks a lot like Daihatsu Copen. And I wonder if it is actually based on it.
According to the magazine, Toyota is planning to unveil this little fun car at the Tokyo Motor Show 2009.
